caconyms - bad words - abound in american descriptions of Turtle Island culture.
like "archaeological park" for an indigenous site.

Indians are from India. indigenous peoples of Turtle Island are not indians.

'Americans' are colonists & settlers, predominantly from Europe. the name came from a european - Amérigo Vespucci - an italian-spanish traveler, merchant & mapmaker.
indigenous people of Turtle Island were not 'americans' in 1400 and were not 'americans' in 1900.
