Reserve Unit This unit is currently made up of (27) citizens from the communities within Hamilton County. These officers underwent weeks of specialized training, through back ground investigations and other testing to become a sworn part time deputy. These officers really provide a great service to the Sheriff’s Office with countless hours of free labor being provided on different community projects during 1999. The special part time deputies ride on patrol and support regular officers, work special functions, such as traffic control and security at the County Fair, Riverbend Festival, Air Show and other events during the year.
Native American Reserve Force
Within the Reserve Force is special part time deputies who are Native Americans. Our department is believed to be the first law enforcement agency in the nation to establish a Native American Reserve Force. The Native American Reserves patrols Moccasin Bend and Williams Island daily to preserve the property, burial grounds and artifacts buried and left on the property. These officers patrol by foot, boat and vehicles and provide a great service to the county.
